Sarasbaug Ganpati Temple - Pune

Sarasbaug temple also famous as “Sarasbaug Ganapati” is the abodes the statue of Shree Siddhivinayak-the first worshipped deity who makes wishes true.

Sarasbaug is situated in the heart of the city, only at walking distance from Swargate and around 4 kms far from Deccan.

Sarasbaug Ganapati is the most sacred and devotional place where the thousand of devotees visits per day not only from Pune but also from around the world, it’s increased up to eighty thousands people on the special occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi including the other festivals or occasions.

The "Sarasbaug Ganapati" temple has been running under the protection of Shree Devdeveshwar Sansthan, Parvati and Kothrud.

According to history, in the 18th century, Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshwa curved his tend towards the progress and beautification of vicinity of Parvati hills, very soon after completion of the temple of Shree Devdeveshwar on Parvati hill.

He had an inclination of making a lake at the foothills of Parvati and for that approximately 25000 square feet area was retained in the middle of the lake. After a period of time a beautiful garden was built and “Sarasbaug”- a poetic name was given by Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshwa.
