The temple is based on square shape. It has a square campus. The main building of temple is built of a square shaped stage. The shape of building is also square. The stage of the temple contains rooms in it, which are used for temple's staff purposes and sometimes, for Yagya.

The campus is a green campus with trees and plants. Visitor can walk around the main temple building in the campus. It's useful since, some worshippers walk around the building of temples for religious reasons in Hinduism.

The temple has a huge square pond in front of it. The pond is with stone stairs in all sides and four watch pillars on each corner. There is a shade made of stone also at one side of the pond.

The stone work on the walls of temple building also emphasizes the square shape. The temple wall has designs built in square shaped blocks and ornamental scrawls.

Daan-Ghati is one of the two main temple constructions in Goverdhan, close to Mathura, India. The structure of the other temple is famed as “Dasvisa”.

Inside the temple of Daan Ghati, there is a beautiful deity who is in the form of a rock actually. It is belief that every year, the deity of Daan Ghati temple is to be going down on the earth by the minority millimeters. Yamai devi or Shree Yamai devi temple is located in a hill composite in the town of Aundh, District of Satara, an Indian state of Maharashtra. Varada Vinayaka is the one of the temple from Ashtavinaya, and fourth temple during the visit of Ashtavinaya located at the Malad, Mumbai that region was also known as Madhak or Bhadrak in ancient times. It is just 3 km off the Mumbai Pune highway near Khapoli. This temple was built in the 17th century.

It is said that Lord Ganesh who is in a form of Varada Vinayaka in this temple, fulfills all wishes and give the propitious blessings. In this temple a nandadeep has been well-lighted continuously since 1892.

Legend was related with Sage Vachaknavi and his wife Mukunda. Once King Rukmangada visited their place and saint’s wife attracted to him but the king got angry and left the place. Lord Indra saw this and took a chance and went their in disguise of that king and Mukunda accepted her amative turn. Grutshamadha was the illegitimate child of their union. When he came to know this story, he prayed for Lord Ganesha and requested to forgive the all sins. Then Lord Ganesha granted Grutshamadha’s wish in a form of Varada Vinayaka.

The Vajreshwari Temple is also famous as Shree Vajreshwari Yogini Devi Mandir. This temple of Vajreshwari is devoted to the Vajreshwari goddess-the incarnation of Goddess Parvati and considered as one of the sacred temple of Hindus. The Pataleshwar Cave Temple that is also famous as Panchaleshvara or Bamburde, is situated in Pune, Maharastra, India. According to its history, approximately it was carved in 8th century AD in the period of Rashtrakuta. Mandher Devi Temple that is famed as “Kalubai temple” in Mandhradevi nearly at the place Wai, District of Satara, Maharashtra, India, situated on a hill about 4,650 feet above sea level and just some 20 km far from Satara. Grishneshwar Temple is a famous Hindu temple and also known as Ghushmeshwar. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is famed as scared abode of Shiva and one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.

Brahmin’s second wife Ghushma had a nice son who was married. They were very devout and strong faith in Lord Shiva They regular do their chant and ritual worship.

The Brahmin’s first wife didn’t like this and was jealous so that she killed the son and threw him away in the lake where his real mother had discharged the 101 lingas of Lord Shiva. When her daughter in law knew this, she informed her mother in law but they were doing their regular ritual and absorbed in the prayer of Lord Shiva. When they came to know they didn’t fear but tried to continue ritual with their faith and said that the one who had blessed me with son that would protect my son and started her reciting “Shiva-Shiva”.

After the prayer she went to that place when she discharged her lingas and his son appeared from that lake. She was not sad or happy. But lord Shiva was so much pleased with her devotion and he blessed her and asked her about her wishes. Ghushma wished Shiva to stay here eternally for the benefit of the devotees in the form of a Jyotirling by her name. Lord Shiva blessed her for her wish and manifested there in Jyotirling form and named as “Ghushmeshwar” the lake was famed as “Shivalaya”.

Ajit Nath Temple is the sacred place of Jainism, nestled in the hills of Taranga and situated 56 kms far from Mehsana. This temple dedicated to Ajitnath, the 22nd Tirthankara of Jains.

The upper floor is hidden away from the outlook and one can access only through a ladder which is very uncomfortable. It is consequently considered an undisclosed floor. One more thing is that wooden bars are used to hold up extensively separated walls.

Someshwara Temple is located close to the Veraval town in Western part of Gujarat, India. Veraval is reached from Rajkot. Someshwara is the temple of lord Somanth-Shiva. An interesting story is linked with the emergence of this Jyotirlinga, described in the Shiva Puran.

The temple is devoted to Someshwara, the God Shiva-with moon on his head.
In its exterior design the Somnath temple contrasts well with the temple of Rudramala at Siddhapur. It is more or less of the same size in length. The dome of the temple however is as large as any other built in this time of period.

The temple faces to east and once had a tremendous central hall having three other entrances and each protected by a eminent porch. The fragments give some idea of the sculpture decorating the temple and lie scattered at a short distance from the site.

The richly carved and sculptured doors represent Nandi-Sivas bull and the figures of goddesses. Their female attendants must once have presented a grand ensemble of great beauty. There is a damaged form of Nataraja, the dancing Shiva in the recesses of the balconied corridor. Although basically a Brahmanical temple, the influence of Jain architecture is clearly evident.

Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj is a Hindu temple in Bhuj. This temple was built by Swaminarayan, organizer of the Swaminarayan Sampraday.

Shree Swaminarayan Mandir comes under the “Narnarayan Dev Gadi”. Senior devotees Sundarjibhai, Gangarambhai and other persons from the Bhuj region of Kutch went to Gadhada. At that time Swaminarayan was attending a “Fuldol festival” there. In that festival, the devotees of Bhuj met Swaminarayan and appealed him to build a temple in Bhuj.

Swaminarayan asked Vaishnavananand Swami to continue and do the further procedure with a team of the saints to Bhuj and buid a temple. In 1822, Vaishnavanand Swami and the consequent saints went to Bhuj, camped at the place neighboring land of temple. Then after they drew the plans of the temple, complex and executed the plans with minute details. In last, they built a temple abode of NarNarayan Dev within a short span of one year.
Late Guru Ramanand Swami constantly visited Bhuj and other places in Kutch and spread Satsang in the Kutch region.

Swaminarayan had adorned this temple in the western belt of India and had himself installed the idols of Narnarayan dev and Harikrishna Maharaj-his sown form in central holy place sanctorum of the temple.

Near the image of God, the idol of RadhaKrishna Dev and Harikrishna Maharaj are seated under the eastern dome and the idol of Ghanshyam Maharaj is seated in western dome. The houses of images of Ganapati and Hanuman is located in the main square of the inner temple is named as “Roop Chowki”.

“Akshar Bhavan” treasures the personal items of Swaminarayan in the temple.
Due to Earthquake on 26 January, 2001, most of the part of not only the city but also the original temple of Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj constructed by Swaminarayan in 1824, was shattered.

To renew the temple, the new temple is being built with only gold and marble. The idol of Swaminarayan’s throne, the domes of temple and gates will be made of gold. And on the other side, the ceilings and pillars will be made from marble.

The creative main idol of Nar Narayan and Swaminarayan in the appearance of Hari Krishna will be moved from the old temple to the new one along with Radha Krishna, Swaminarayan (in form of Ghanshyam) and Sukh Shaiya and others.

The newly temple of Shri Swaminarayan is being constructed at a cost of 1 billion Indian rupees (100 crore) on 5 acres of land.
The ceiling and pillars of this temple are adorned with intricate carvings which will make this temple the most expensive temple in the Indian state of Gujarat recently. Thousands of people will come here to visit this marvelous temple of Bhuj.

Ranchhodraiji Temple is located in Dakor, Kheda-district of Gujarat. In past Dakor was not a big village, but as time gone it has grown into a main commercial center. The shrine of the original Ranchhodraiji Temple has been enclosed in a vast complex now.

The famous Dakor temple was built by Shri Gopalrao Jagannath Tambwekar in 1772 A.D. The construction of this temple is quite different. The temple has walls from bricks and pillars from stones with cost of one lakh rupees. The shape of the complex is square and has 4 gates on the outer walls, located significantly.

The main door of the temple faces the “Gomati River" of India. Apart from this door, there are three additional doors which show the way to the main shrine. The door which faces the Lord Ranchhodraiji opens in front of a viewer’s hall. The followers spend a lot of time with the Lord Ranchhodraiji here. The main door of Ranchhodraiji remains open the whole time in a day, except for the afternoon time. It is supposed that Lord sleeps and takes rest in between this period so a bedchamber is connected with the main chamber of the temple.

The bed of the Lord is richly adorned with aromatic garlands, blankets, soft mattress, gold and silver bedsteads in silk and soft cotton. The deity of Lord Ranchhodraiji is regarded as the signs of Lord Krishna.

An interesting story which covered in epic Mahabharata is hidden behind the Lord' name and the Ranchhodraiji Temple is that as per Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna ran away from the battlefield during a battle with a friend of Jarasand and since that time he has become popular and known as Ranchhodraiji. In contrast to this Ranchhodraiji Temple was constituted here as an effect of the Lord's kindness for his devotees.

In olden times, a devotee of Lord Krishna- Bholanath traveled from Dakor to Dwarka to worship him. The Lord observed this and was overwhelmed by his loyalty and devotion and decided to shift to Dakor to save his devotee from the difficulty in traveling so far. This way, He attended Bholanath to Dakor.

It is said and fact that the idol at Ranchhodraiji Temple is initially from Dwarka which has made the deity an all time beloved of the devotees here. A big fair is held at Dakor every year on Sharad Purnima-full moon day in winters.

The Somnath Temple is the dwelling place of 12 Jyotirlings (lingas of light) of lord Shiva, located in the Prabhas Patan near Veraval in Saurashtra, on the western beach of Gujarat, India. It is described in the Rig Veda. It is one the holy places of Hinduism which confluence (Sangam) of the legendary Saraswati, Hiranya and Kapila. It is not only the pilgrimage but also the historical significance.

The Somnath Temple is very marvelous and it is well-known due to its diamond, gold and jewelry. The carving, craftsmanship and architectural skill of the somnath temple are superb. The Temple of Somnath is considered as “the Shrine Eternal” as the the temple is demolished 6 times but it has been built again every single time. The real meaning of Somnath is “The Protector of Moon God”.

It has been believed that The God Moon (Chandra) was proud for his radiance beauty so he was cursed by Daksha-his father-in-law to diminish but the entire world became lifeless. Then to come out from this curse, the Moon prayed to Lord Shiva at the Prabhas tirth and was blessed to grow and shine. As Moon got back his light at this place, it became popular as Prabhasa. As per the request of Moon (Chandra) and Lord Shiva assumed the name “Somchandra” and then became very famous by “Somnath”. This way the causing became the periodic waning of Moon.

It is said and fact that the main original Somnath temple was built by the Lord Moon and was made of gold and included 56 pillars of sapphire. After it was destroyed to the ground, the temple was reconstructed with silver by Ravana. At the time when the silver temple was pulled down, it was again rebuilt in wood by Lord Krishna. And last when it was pulled down, then it constructed with stones by Bhimdev (Solanki Ruler of Gujarat). According to the history, the temple was robbed 17 times.

There are the different names of Somnath like- Pattan Somnath, Prabhas Pattan or Deo pattan.

There are some other popular places such as Sun Temple, Bhalka Tirth (a place where Lord Krishna was wounded by an arrow by mistake), Ahilyabai Temple, Junagarh Gate and Mai Puri (once a Sun Temple, now a mosque) etc.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel-the Iron man of India, was active in the construction of the present temple, the structure reminding tourists of the magnificence of the original Somnath temple. This well-known temple again designed by architect Prabhaschandar and then after Dr. Rajendra Prasad-the first president of India, established the Jyotirling in the new temple on May 11, 1951.

Shankheshwar Temple is a famous old Jain pilgrimage in Modhera, in the Gujarat State, India. The old temple at the ancient time 1811-1812 AD but now there a new temple stands. The Shankeshwar is a village in Sami Taluk of Patan District. From here it’s very easy to access Sami and Harij in the north.

It is said that in the past, Shankeshwar village was given on a hire to the Seth Shantidas-the Nagarseth of Ahmedabad and endowment by Emperor Shah Jahan.

After Palitana, Shankheshwar Temple gets the next rank in the importance for the Jain. The main idol of the Tirthankara Parshvanath belongs to samvat 1666 and the inscriptions date back to 1656-1686 AD. The compartments (cells) have been in built with brick and without cutting in shape.

The other Jain scared places near to Shankeshwar Temple are, Lolada is in the north-west, Becharaji is in the east. At Shankeshwar, Shri Sankheshwar Parshwanath Teerth devoted to Shri Sankheshwar Parshwanath Bhagwan is honored pilgrim center. At Munjpur-Shri Jotingada Parshwanath, at Panchasar-Shree Panchasar Jain Temple, and Modhera-Shri Chintamani Parshwanath etc. are very close to Shankeshwar.

Most probably the fairs are organized on the full moon day and Margashirsha Vad 10, in the Hindu months-Chaitra and Kartik or solar months-March/April and October/November.

Nageswara Mahadeva Temple includes one of the 12 Shiva jyotirlingas in the subway sanctum and it is 17 km from Dwarka, Gujarat-India.

Nageswara Temple is also known as Nagnath Temple is situated on the direction between Gomati Dwarka and the Bet Dwarka Island on the beach of Saurashtra in Gujarat. The Jyotirlinga enshrined in the Temple of Nagnath is also known as Nageswara Mahadev. This powerful Jyotirlinga represents protection from all poisons. It is said that those who pray to the Nageswara Linga honestly can become free of poison. The Rudra Samhita sloka refers to Nageswara with the phrase 'Daarukaavane Naagesham'.

There is an interesting legend behind Nageswara Temple. According to Shiv Purana, a devotee of Shiva named Supriya was attacked by a devil named Daaruka while in a boat. The devil locked up her along with some others at his capital Daarukaavana where he resided with his wife Daaruki. Supriya advised all prisoners to recite the mantra “Om Namaha Shivaya”. When Daruk came to know about this he went to kill Supriya. At once Lord Shiva appeared in the appearance of a Jyotirlingam and defeated the devil with the “Paasupata Astram”.

It is said that anyone who reads ever the birth and greatness of this Jyotirlinga with devotion, according to the Shiv Purana, shall lead to all material happiness and almighty status in the end.

As it is so ancient and one of the 12 jyotirlingas, it attracts thousands of pilgrims all over the world.
